Last days of the expedition – Jørgen, local teacher, brings back the whole team in two quick rides to Itto. It's time to take care of the last buisiness with the Inuits, and to pack all the gear which will be shipping back by Northsailing after we left. We enjoy these last moments in Itto, as they allow us to better understand the day-to-day life of this remote community. Farewell Greenland !

Arctic Hares base camp

STORY - Harefjord - the fjord of hares. The name is appropriate: just climb up on the grassy slopes which surround the camp, and you will see many of these hares, not shy at all. When they scamper, they oddly jump up on their back legs, and seems to float quickly over the grass.

Le Carnet d’Evrard #1

Nous nous réveillons sous un soleil radieux au-dessus du village d’Ittoqqortoormitt. La vue plongeante sur le fjord avec quelques icebergs isolés est spectaculaire. Ittoqqortoormiit, situé au-delà de 71° degrés de latitude, est le village le plus septentrional de la côte est du Groenland. Au-dessus, rien que des fjords sauvages et quasi inaccessibles jusqu’à l’extrémité nord de l’île constituant le plus grand parc national du monde.
